The General Secretariat of the Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah International Prize for Entrepreneurship 2015 announced the awarding of the prize to former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohammed who will receive the prize in an international celebration in Riyadh on November 3rd 2015.
The Secretary General and Director General of the Centennial Fund, Dr. Abdulaziz Almutairi, said that the awarding of the prize to Dr. Mahathir Mohammed is in appreciation of his rich experience in supporting entrepreneurship globally, his support of SMEs and enhancing the youth entrepreneurship culture in Malaysia and the world and his role in developing and enhancing sustained awareness of entrepreneurship projects to maintain sustainability in national economy.
Dr. Almutairi added that Dr. Mahathir Mohammed is going ot be a main speaker in the 2nd Global Forum on Entrepreneurship which will be held in Riyadh on November 3rd 2015 under the motto: “Innovation in Social Entrepreneurship” and which will run in parallel with the awarding ceremony of Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah International Prize for Entrepreneurship in its third season under the auspices of Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah, Deputy Foreign Minister and President of the Centennial Fund. The forum will be attended by numerous entrepreneurship leaders from the Kingdom, the GCC countries and the world and who will present various papers and presentations on entrepreneurship in the presence of local and global economic figures.
Dr. Almutairi added that the prize has become a strong motivator and an added value in the quest of the Centennial Fund to honor youth as bearers of the a sublime mission earning the appreciation and respect of the community.
The prize, in its third edition, has become one the most recognized global prizes and consists of six categories: Best Emerging Project, Best Established Project, Best Entrepreneur, Best Innovator, Best Mentor, Child Entrepreneur and finally the Entrepreneurial Leadership Personality.
Last year, the Entrepreneurial Leadership Personality Award went to Prof. Mohammed Yunus, the Noble Laureate.
